I am a middle-aged African American Female living in the Arkansas Delta. I have spent the majority of my adult life advocating for the rights of oppressed and underserved people. I do not believe that people should be judged based on their color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, differences of opinion or any other difference. I believe that people should be judged on what they bring to the table and what they contribute.
African American women disproportionately suffer from diabetes, hypertension, cervical cancer, breast cancer and obesity. Not only do we experience many of these health issues at an alarming rate, but we face increased risks with aging.
