Dr. Tonya Baker McPherson is the Director of Student Activities at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. As the director, she is responsible for strategic planning, assessment, and oversight of student programming, registered student organization development, and student media. She has served in several functions within student affairs including assessment and evaluation, risk management, new student orientation, student organization advising and development, leadership development, and student union programming. Her scholarly research interests include experiences of undergraduate Black women and professional development practices of Black women who are student affairs administrators. Tonya received her B.A. in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication and MEd in College Student Affairs from the University of South Florida- Tampa, and her PhD. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services from the University of Georgia.
